NBA Game Summary - Denver at Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Denver Nuggets came from behind in the fourth quarter to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers, 97-93, at the Wachovia Center.

Ruben Patterson scored 20 points for the Nuggets, who won their third game in a row. Marcus Camby recorded 13 points and 14 rebounds. Anthony Miller added 12 assists.

Allen Iverson led all scorers with 38 points for the Sixers, who lost their third straight game in excruciating fashion.

On March 5th, Stephen Jackson converted a last second layup as Indiana defeated Philadelphia, 94-93.

On Wednesday, The Sixers led the Celtics by seven points with 2:20 remaining, but Boston closed the game out on a 14-4 run to pull off the victory, 104-101.

Chris Webber recorded a double-double for Philadelphia, scoring 17 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. No other Sixer reached double figures.

Trailing by seven at the start of the fourth quarter, the Nuggets scored the first 13 points of the period to take a six point lead, 85-79, with just under eight minutes left to play. An Anthony jumper capped the scoring for Denver.

Behind six straight points from Iverson, the Sixers fought back, tying the game at 93-93 with 2:07 left to play.

Anthony answered, though, dropping in a reverse layup to give Denver the lead for good with just 18 seconds remaining.

With a chance to tie or take the lead, Iverson and Kyle Korver were both rejected, and Philadelphia was forced to foul Anthony, who knocked in both of his free throws to ice the game.

Denver led by one at the end of the first quarter, 23-22.

Seldom used guard Matt Barnes sparked the Sixers in the second quarter, scoring six points as Philadelphia outscored Denver 32-22 for the period. The Sixers led by nine at the break, 54-45.

Philadelphia led by as many as 15 in the third quarter, but Denver closed the period out on a 15-8 run to cut the deficit to seven, 79-72, heading into the final frame. Game Notes

Korver finished the game with seven points, shooting just 1-for-12 from beyond the arc...Philadelphia outrebounded Denver, 54-42...The Nuggets shot 45.6 percent from the field, while the Sixers shot just 38.5 percent.
