NBA Game Summary - Denver at Utah

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Carlos Boozer netted 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, as the Utah Jazz defeated the Denver Nuggets, 104-83, at the Delta Center.

Mehmet Okur contributed 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz, who have won four straight games. Andrei Kirilenko and Deron Williams each scored 14 points in the win.

The win moved Utah to within 1 1/2 games behind idle Sacramento for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Jazz have four games remaining, including three on the road, while the Kings have just three left, the last two of which will be at home.

Carmelo Anthony scored 18 points with five rebounds and five assists for the Nuggets, who had a three-game winning streak halted. Linas Kleiza scored 16 points in the loss.

Utah broke the game open in the fourth to run away with the contest.

Ahead 71-63 to start the frame, Denver pulled to within six at 78-72 after Kleiza's layup with 9:53 left in the first before the Jazz ripped off six straight to double their lead to 84-72.

Then, after a Ruben Patterson dunk for Denver, Kirilenko and Okur each netted four points during a 10-0 Utah run that made it 94-74 with 4:45 to play.

An Okur jumper gave Utah a 102-81 edge with 1:22 to go as the Jazz outscored the Nuggets 33-20 in the final frame to claim victory.

Matt Harpring scored 13 points for Utah, which led 25-21 after the first frame and 48-41 after the second.

Denver, meanwhile, fell to 1-4 in its last five games and has lost 18 of its last 20 trips to Utah.

Game Notes

Utah shot 48.8 percent from the floor while Denver hit 43.7 percent of its shots...Williams handed out nine assists while Kirilenko had seven...Andre Miller had just two points for the Nuggets but dished out eight assists...The Jazz won their season series with the Nuggets 3-1.
