NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at Washington

(Friday, December 2nd)

Final Score: Milwaukee 105, Washington 102

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Maurice Williams drilled a deep three- pointer at the buzzer, as Milwaukee edged Washington, 105-102, in an exciting game at MCI Center.

Williams ended with a career-high 35 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter, while Jamaal Magloire added 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Bucks, who have won two straight games.

Michael Redd, who missed Tuesday's game with a right quadriceps contusion, finished with 16 points in the win.

Gilbert Arenas netted 34 points and Caron Butler posted 27 for the Wizards, who have dropped two of their past three contests.

"It was a very competitive game," said Washington head coach Eddie Jordan.

Trailing by four after three quarters, Washington tied the score at 84-84 on Arenas' layup with 8:05 remaining and took a one-point lead minutes later.

Arenas later drained a pair of free throws to put the Wizards ahead 93-90, but Milwaukee scored 10 of the next 13 points, capped by Magloire's layup, to grab a 100-96 lead with 2:20 to play. Williams scored the other eight points during the quick run.

"He (Williams) was on a nice little roll," Milwaukee head coach Terry Stotts said.

Butler, though, hit two foul shots with 1:05 left and it brought Washington even at 100 apiece. After each team scored on its next possession, Magloire missed a jump hook with 32 seconds left.

Arenas was then called for an offensive foul and the Bucks took advantage of the final opportunity as Williams drained a long three-pointer that dropped through the net as time expired.

"They had a foul to give," said Williams. "I thought they were going to foul me, so that is why I didn't attack the basket. When I saw they weren't going to foul me, I decided to shoot the three-pointer. If I hit it we win, if I miss we are going to overtime. I got a good look. I crossed over to get some separation from the defender and the shot went in."

The Wizards trailed 33-27 after one quarter, but came back in the second and carried a 56-55 edge into the locker room.

Milwaukee still trailed by one point late in the third quarter, but scored the final five points of the period to hold a 77-73 advantage after 36 minutes.
