Jason Terry added 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting for the Mavs, who got back into the win column after having their six-game winning streak halted on Thursday against San Antonio. Dallas also extended its club-record home winning streak to 16 games.
"We were able to gut out a win," said Dallas head coach Avery Johnson. We were emotionally, mentally and physically drained, especially in the first half. We had a little talk with the team at halftime and they seemed to respond...[Thursday] took a lot out of our team."
Gerald Wallace had 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Bobcats, who have dropped three of four.
The Mavs led 18-16 after one quarter, but Charlotte stayed with its high- powered opponent and went into halftime leading 37-36.

The Mavs continued to pour it on from there, going into the fourth with a 70-52 cushion.
Dallas coasted through the fourth and the Bobcats never got within single digits.
"They were knocking down shots," said Wallace. "It gets hard to guard those guys when they are knocking down shots."

Erick Dampier had 14 rebounds for Dallas.
The Mavs' Keith Van Horn left the game in the first quarter with a sprained left knee...Prior to the game, the NBA fined Mavs guard Jerry Stackhouse $30,000 for publicly criticizing officials after Thursday's game. The altercation resulted in the ejection of Horry, who was hit with a two-game suspension without pay by the league for part in the incident...The Bobcats fell to 6-26 on the road...Dallas improved to 27-4 at home.
