NBA Game Summary - Denver at Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Shawn Marion finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds and Steve Nash added 23 points and 12 assists, as the Phoenix Suns downed the Denver Nuggets, 123-114, at America West Arena.
Joe Johnson also netted 23 points for the Suns, who have won two straight and five of their last six contests. Phoenix (52-17) is now one game ahead of idle San Antonio for the best record in the Western Conference.
Steven Hunter scored 14 points in the win, while Quentin Richardson chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds.
Carmelo Anthony scored 22 points to lead seven Denver scorers in double figures. Andre Miller collected 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Nuggets, who had their win streak halted at six games. Denver dropped to 14-2 since the All-Star break with both of those losses in that stretch coming against the Suns.
Marcus Camby and Wesley Person each scored 14 points for the Nuggets, who currently hold a two-game lead over idle Minnesota for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Suns led 89-88 after the third quarter and the game would be tight until the closing minutes.
Earl Boykins' basket gave Denver a 107-102 lead with 5:45 remaining in the fourth, but Phoenix closed the game on a 21-7 run and coasted to the victory. Nash and Johnson scored eight points apiece in the game-deciding stretch.
The first quarter was tight throughout and Phoenix would hold a 24-23 edge after 12 minutes. It was more of the same in the second quarter and Phoenix would carry a slim 56-55 edge into the locker room at the half.
Marion led all scorers with 18 points at the break and Miller led the Nuggets with 12.
The teams battled back and forth in the third quarter and the Suns led 89-88 heading into the final 12 minutes.
Denver head coach George Karl was ejected from the game for arguing with an official in the fourth quarter...Phoenix center Amare Stoudemire missed his first game of the season with a left ankle injury...Phoenix shot 55-percent from the field compared to 48-percent for the Nuggets...The Suns are 3-0 against Denver this season and have won 11 of the last 15 matchups in Phoenix...Boykins finished with 11 points and seven assists for Denver.
