Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Carmelo Anthony finished with 28 points and seven rebounds to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 113-99 victory over the Sacramento Kings at the Pepsi Center.

Andre Miller posted 18 points and 10 assists and Eduardo Najera added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Nuggets, who have won six straight and 14 of their last 15 games.

Denver is now three games ahead of Minnesota for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Timberwolves beat New Jersey on Saturday.

Nene netted 12 points in the win, while Greg Buckner and Earl Boykins chipped in 11 apiece.

Peja Stojakovic netted 24 and Cuttino Mobley scored 18 for the Kings, who lost for just the second time in five games. Kenny Thomas added 17 points and seven boards in the loss and Mike Bibby scored 15 points.

The Nuggets held an 82-78 advantage after three quarters and eased to the victory in the final 12 minutes. Denver scored six of the period's first eight points to grab an 88-80 advantage with just under 11 minutes left.

The Kings cut the score to 90-85 with 9:14 remaining, but Denver answered with a 13-6 run to take control of the game. The Kings would never get closer than eight points of the lead the rest of the way.

Denver led 29-28 after one quarter of play, but the Kings carried a 56-49 advantage into the locker room at the half.

Stojakovic paced all scorers with 16 points at halftime, while Miller paced the Nuggets with 10.

Denver opened the third quarter with a 16-5 burst to take a 65-61 advantage. Anthony had eight points in the run and Najera's three-pointer capped it with 6:50 remaining. The Nuggets let by as many as nine points in the third quarter, but Sacramento cut the deficit to 82-78 by the end of the period.

Game Notes

Denver center Marcus Camby missed the game with a sprained right ankle...The Nuggets beat Sacramento for just the third time in the last 15 meetings...Denver has allowed under 100 points in 15 of its last 18 games.
