NBA Game Summary - New Jersey at Indiana

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Reggie Miller had 22 points, scoring seven during a key 21-second span late in the fourth quarter, leading the Indiana Pacers over the New Jersey Nets, 90-86, at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Stephen Jackson added 17 points for the Pacers, who captured a playoff spot with the win. James Jones added 14 points and Austin Croshere had 13 points and seven rebounds for Indiana, which has won eight of nine and remains in a fifth-place tie with Washington in the Eastern Conference standings.
"That was a tough game, a playoff-intensity game," said Indiana head coach Rick Carlisle.
Jason Kidd had 29 points, 15 rebounds and six assists for the Nets, who had a three-game win streak halted and fell 1 1/2 games behind the Philadelphia 76ers for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Vince Carter ended with 22 points for New Jersey, which has only four games remaining.
"This is like a four-game playoff race. This was game one," said Nets head caoch Lawrence Frank.
Trailing 75-69 early in the fourth quarter, New Jersey went on a 14-2 run to grab an 83-77 cushion.
Indiana, led by Miller, came storming right back. After Kidd's layup capped the surge with 2:39 on the clock, Miller hit a three-pointer six seconds later and was fouled. He completed the four-point play to draw the Pacers within 83-81.
Kidd then hit 1-of-2 free throws to extend the edge to three points, but Miller again had an answer. He drained another trey to tie the game with two minutes left.
Jones followed that with a long jumper 48 seconds later to give the Pacers the lead for good.
New Jersey had a chance to go ahead, but Kidd lost the ball on the dribble with a minute remaining. Then, after getting the ball back following an Anthony Johnson missed jumper, Clifford Robinson had a three-point attempt bounce out with 21 seconds remaining.
Indiana, which ends the season series against New Jersey splitting the four games, hit six of eight free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
Indiana hit 12-of-28 from three while the Nets made only 5-of-14...New Jersey shot 43 percent from the floor...Indiana hit 37 percent of its shots...Indiana has won seven of the last 13 games against the Nets.
