NBA Game Summary - Chicago at New Jersey

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Vince Carter finished with 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists and Jason Kidd added 22 points, 11 boards and eight assists to help the New Jersey Nets roll to a 100-84 victory over the Chicago Bulls at Continental Airlines Arena.
Jason Collins posted 14 points and 11 rebounds and Nenad Kristic netted 11 points for the Nets, who have won two straight and three of their last four contests.
"We set the tone early," said Kidd. "We came out and played like we had something to play for."
Andres Nocioni and Ben Gordon scored 15 points apiece for the Bulls, who have dropped three in a row and six of their last nine games. Tyson Chandler chipped in 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
"The start was really poor and we could never recover from it," said Bulls coach Scott Skiles.
The Nets, who never trailed in the game, started the opening quarter on a huge 15-2 run. Kidd and Kristic each scored four points in the surge, and it was the latter's bucket that gave New Jersey the 13-point edge with 6:53 left. The Nets would build even further on the quick start and held a 28-11 cushion after 12 minutes of play.
New Jersey gave little ground in the second quarter as well and carried a 50-35 advantage into the locker room.
Carter led all scorers with 18 first-half points, while Nocioni paced the Bulls with eight points.
The Nets led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, with the last time coming after Kidd's jumper made it 67-50 with 5:55 left. However, the Bulls were able to slice the deficit to 72-61 by the end of the quarter.
The Bulls would get the lead down to seven points on a few occasions in the fourth quarter. The last occurrence came after Gordon hit a pair of free throws to make it 79-72 with 5:43 left. However, New Jersey answered with a 14-4 run to squash any hopes of a comeback.
The Nets have won seven straight meetings overall with the Bulls and eight in a row at the Meadowlands...Adrian Griffin and Jannero Pargo scored 10 points apiece for Chicago...New Jersey shot 48 percent from the field, while the Bulls made 39 percent of their attempts.
