Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Peja Stojakovic scored 35 points to lead the Sacramento Kings over the Portland Trail Blazers, 119-115, at the Rose Garden.
Mike Bibby added 19 points and 11 assists and Cuttino Mobley tallied 18 points for the Kings, who increased their lead for fifth place in the Western Conference to 1 1/2 games over the idle Houston Rockets.
Corliss Williamson had 16 points and 11 boards for Sacramento, which has won consecutive games to improve to 6-3 over its last nine contests.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 23 points and 13 boards for Portland, which has dropped seven in a row. Darius Miles also had 23 points for the Blazers, who have lost 14 of 15 overall.
Sebastian Telfair added 21 points for Portland, losers in five straight home.
The game was close throughout, but a Mobley three-pointer with 6:50 remaining put the Kings ahead 104-98.
Portland responded with five straight points to get within 104-103 on a Ruben Patterson bucket at the 5:11 mark.
The Kings extended it to a 112-106 lead with an 8-3 run that was capped by a Bibby free throw with 2:54 remaining. Stojakovic scored the first five points of the burst, draining a three-pointer with 4:16 on the clock for a six-point advantage, 109-103.
Portland did its best to get back into the game, but the Kings hit 7-of-8 free throws during the last 1 1/2 minutes to secure its third victory in four contests versus Portland this season.
Patterson ended with 20 points for the Blazers, who have dropped 11 of 13 at home.
Portland's Damon Stoudamire left the game with a bruised left shoulder...Sacramento's Kenny Thomas left the game in the first quarter after taking an elbow to his eye...Brian Skinner had eight points and 16 boards for the Kings.
