NBA Game Summary - LA Lakers at Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Quentin Richardson scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 125-99 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at America West Arena.
Amare Stoudemire added 23 points and Shawn Marion had 22 points and 12 boards for the Suns, who have won six straight and nine of their last 10 to record their 57th win of the season. The Suns continue to hold the best record in the NBA.
Caron Butler had 30 points, seven rebounds and six steals for the Lakers, who were without injured guard Kobe Bryant. Chucky Atkins added 14 points and eight assists for Los Angeles, which has now been officially eliminated from the playoffs after Denver won earlier in the night. It is the first time since 1994 that the Lakers will miss the postseason.
Bryant aggravated a shin injury in his team's last game and he didn't suit up for this one.
The Suns held a a 31-25 lead after one quarter and continued to build upon the cushion in the second. Phoenix scored 15 of the first 23 points for the second, highlighted by five three-pointers, as the Suns opened up a 46-33 advantage.
From there the Suns cruised into halftime with 70-59 edge.
In the third, a Butler free throw with 2:27 remaining drew the Lakers within 92-81. However, the Suns answered with a 10-2 run to grab a 102-83 cushion and cruise the rest of the way.
Leandro Barbosa ended the run with a three-pointer with 40 ticks remaining until the fourth and Phoenix went into the final frame with a 102-85 lead.
The Lakers never threatened over the final 12 minutes and the Suns downed their Pacific Division rival for the third time this season.
Los Angeles has dropped nine straight on the road.
Los Angeles placed center Chris Mihm on the injured list before the game because of a sprained right ankle, and activated center Vlade Divac from the IL...Phoenix improved to 10-2 on Tuesday games this year...Steve Nash had eight points and nine assists for the Suns...Barbosa had 14 points...Devean George had 12 points and Jumaine Jones tallied 10 for the Lakers...Phoenix hit 17 threes, which establishes a new franchise record. The Suns ended 17-of-39 from behind the arc.
