NBA Game Summary - Atlanta at Sacramento

(Tuesday, February 22nd)

Final Score: Sacramento 114, Atlanta 104

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Chris Webber scored 30 points to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 114-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at ARCO Arena.

Mike Bibby netted 23 points while Brad Miller posted 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Kings, who began their post All-Star break run with a victory after dropping six of seven. Cuttino Mobley added 20 points in the victory.

Al Harrington, who was activated from the injured list earlier Tuesday, finished with a team-high 25 points for Atlanta, which has dropped five straight. Antoine Walker contributed 23 points and nine rebounds while Josh Smith, fresh off his dunk title on All-Star weekend, ended with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

The Kings wasted little time, jumping out to a big lead early on and taking a 33-19 advantage into the second quarter.

Following a Smith bucket that tied the contest at 15 apiece, the Kings closed out the opening stanza with an 18-4 run. Mobley started the burst with a traditional three-point play and added a jumper while Webber contributed eight and capped the scoring with two free throws for the 33-19 edge.

The Hawks outscored the Kings by four in the second stanza, but still trailed 57-47 at the break.

As the second half unfolded, the visitors continued to chip away at their deficit. A Harrington tip-in brought the Hawks within 73-65 with over five minutes remaining in the third quarter and nearly two minutes later added a three-pointer that made it 76-70. Webber's bucket completed the third-quarter scoring for a seven-point Sacramento lead.

The final frame belonged to the Kings, who used seven points from Webber and five points from Darius Songaila in the first five minutes to increase their advantage to 100-85.

From there, the Hawks never seriously threatened again, and Bibby added several key jumpers down the stretch to secure the victory.
