(Friday, January 21st)

Final Score: Chicago 95, Atlanta 85

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Kirk Hinrich finished with a team-high 23 points, dished out nine assists and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Chicago past Atlanta, 95-85 at The United Center.

Antonio Davis added a season-high 17 for Chicago, while Eddy Curry netted 18 points in the win. The Bulls have won eight of their last nine contests and this was their sixth straight home victory.

"We are playing in a nice groove," Davis stated. "We need to continue to roll."

Antoine Walker scored a game-high 25 points to go along with seven rebounds for Atlanta, and Al Harrington tallied 21 in the loss. The Hawks have lost three consecutive games and four of their last five.

"They are really hitting their stroke right now," Hawks head coach Mike Woodson stated. "They believe in one another and they do it at the defensive by getting at you and taking things away."

The Bulls led 74-71 after three quarters. Chicago's lead grew to eight early in the fourth, when Hinrich finished off a three-point play to make it 81-73 at 8:48. Hinrich's second three-pointer of the game and a Curry hook shot highlighted a 14-4 run to give them an 88-75 cushion.

Chicago continued to turn it on down the stretch, extending its lead to as many as 17 to put the Hawks away.

"We are happy we won the game," head coach Scott Skiles said. "It was a below mediocre performance and frankly I am embarassed. I will do everything I can to make sure that doesn't happen again."

Curry's 10 points in the first quarter helped Chicago claim a 23-20 lead after the first 20 minutes.

The Bulls added to their lead in the second frame behind 11 points from Tyson Chandler and took a 55-43 advantage into the locker room.

Predrag Drobnjak's three-pointer at 3:13 of the third did get the Hawks to within eight, 67-59, but Davis answered on the other end when he converted a three-point play to push the Chicago lead back to 11.

Atlanta continued to climb back into the game after Josh Smith knocked down two from the charity stripe, to make it a six-point spread, 70-64, with under two minutes to go in the third. Two possessions later, Smith finished on a lay-in to cap a quick 7-0 spurt.

Chandler finished with 13 points off the bench.
