NBA Game Summary - Charlotte at Atlanta

(Saturday, January 15th)

Final Score: Atlanta 103, Charlotte 95

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Al Harrington scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as the Atlanta Hawks cruised past the Charlotte Bobcats, 103-95, at Philips Arena.

Antoine Walker chipped in 21 points with 11 rebounds, while Predrag Drobnjak netted 16 points off the bench for the Hawks, who won for the second time in three games.

Charlotte was paced by Jason Hart's 19 points off the bench. Kareem Rush tallied 15 points for the Bobcats, who dropped their fourth straight game since defeating Minnesota on January 5.

Already leading throughout the entire contest, the Hawks' advantage bloomed to 18 in the third quarter, 78-60, and the Bobcats were unable to recover. Walker's three-point jump shot with under a minute to go sealed the win for Atlanta.

"We just wanted to bounce back," Walker said. "We felt like we gave away the game in Boston last night, with free throws and missed layups. We came out and wanted to kind of establish ourselves defensively, and not let those guys dominate us."

Hart was able to lead a furious Bobcats flurry in the waning moments of the fourth to cut the deficit to 100-90, but the Atlanta lead was insurmountable.

Keith Bogans and Jason Kapono contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively, from the Charlotte bench.

"Tonight we struggled," Rush explained. "We should have come out and played a lot better, but we are coming off back-to-back and those are always tough to play."

Harrington netted 13 points in the first 12 minutes to help the Hawks claim a 27-20 lead after one quarter.

The Hawks used a 10-0 burst in the second to go up 54-36, and they never looked back. Walker highlighted the run with five points, including a three- point bucket to cap it.

Harrington and Walker were the only two players to finish in double figures in the first half, as Atlanta owned a 56-42 advantage heading into the locker room.
