NBA Game Summary - Minnesota at Memphis

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Lorenzen Wright and Stromile Swift scored 18 points each as Memphis routed slumping Minnesota, 108-96, at FedEx Forum.
Wright finished 9-of-11 from the field and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds as the Grizzlies recorded their fourth win in five games. Jason Williams compiled 15 points and eight assists for Memphis, while Shane Battier and Brian Cardinal each finished with 14 points in the triumph.
"I have to step up my game so we can win some games," said Wright "I'm getting a few more touches, and I'm trying to convert on the few shots I get."
Kevin Garnett netted 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds for the Timberwolves, whose losing streak reached a season-worst six games. Wally Szczerbiak and Latrell Sprewell had 19 and 17 points, respectively, in the setback.
The Grizzlies outscored Minnesota 11-2 to start the game and closed out a dominating first quarter with a 10-1 run to build a 29-14 lead over the first 12 minutes. Mike Miller started the spurt with a three-pointer with 1:40 to go and was later fouled after making a layup with 13 seconds remaining in the quarter. He hit the ensuing bonus attempt to extend the Grizzlies' advantage to 15 points.
Minnesota cut its deficit to nine points when Szcerbiak and Troy Hudson drained back-to-back threes at the front end of an 8-0 spurt which made the score 35-26 with seven minutes left in the half. The Timberwolves trailed by 10 when Memphis put together an 11-4 flurry, capped by Battier's three-pointer with 2:24 remaining before intermission, to go ahead 57-40.
The Grizzlies shot 7-of-11 from three-point range in the first half and went into the locker room with a 63-44 advantage.
Memphis continued to pour it on in the third quarter, as Battier scored the final five points of an 11-2 run which put the hosts ahead 86-58 with under two minutes left in the period. The Grizzlies entered the final stanza with a commanding 90-65 lead.
Memphis was up 106-88 with under two minutes to go before an 8-2 Minnesota spurt, with six points coming from Sprewell, accounted for the final margin.
Minnesota has not lost six straight since a seven-game skid from March 5-17, 2002...The Grizzlies fell to 24-25 and have not been below .500 this late in the season since the 1996-97 campaign...Minnesota had won 10 straight on the road against the Memphis/Vancouver franchise and 15 of its last 16 games on the Grizzlies' home floor...Memphis center Jake Tsakalidis sat out the contest due to neck spasms.
