Final Score: Cleveland 104, New York 79

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - LeBron James scored a game-high 22 points and the Cleveland Cavaliers throttled the New York Knicks, 104-79, at Gund Arena.

Lucious Harris had 16 points off the bench and Ira Newble chipped in 14 for the Cavs, who have won three straight and six of their last eight games. Jeff McInnis netted 13 points in the win.

"We wanted to protect our house and make sure people know when they come to Cleveland now they are playing a basketball team," James said.

Tim Thomas paced the struggling Knicks with 17 points and Nazr Mohammed contributed 12, as New York suffered its fourth straight loss and sixth in nine tries.

With about 3 1/2 minutes remaining in the third quarter, McInnis drained a three for an 84-53 Cleveland lead. The Cavaliers were in control and led by an 87-59 score after three quarters of play.

New York had no chance to pull off any comeback and suffered its seventh consecutive loss at Cleveland.

"We didn't play very well at all," Knicks head coach Lenny Wilkens said. "They ran a clinic on us."

McInnis' running jumper with less than four minutes to go in the opening quarter staked the Cavs to a 24-13 lead. New York then scored nine of the next 14 points to pull within 29-22 after 12 minutes. James had 11 points in the frame, while Houston paced the Knicks with seven.

Cleveland grabbed a comfortable 44-26 lead midway through the second quarter courtesy of a 13-0 run culminated by an Anderson Varejao three-point play. Harris later buried a three-pointer to extend the Cavs' lead to 53-30. Cleveland eventually headed to the locker room with a 67-36 cushion. James had 15 points and Harris netted 12 at halftime.

"This is the best we played all year," James said.
