Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - LeBron James poured in a game-high 40 points and added nine rebounds and seven assists to lead Cleveland over Atlanta, 111-102, at Philips Arena.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 20 points and eight boards for the Cavaliers, who won their second straight game.
"My New Year's resolution is to just try to win more games," said James.
Al Harrington posted a season-high 31 points and added six rebounds and four helpers for the Hawks, who suffered their seventh loss in eight outings.
Atlanta only trailed 82-80 with 9:32 left to play after a Harrington three- pointer, but the Cavaliers responded with eight straight points and they cruised to the victory. Jeff McInnis capped off the burst on a three-point play with 6:28 remaining to make it a 90-80 affair.
"We have to figure out a way to put it together for 48 minutes," said Atlanta forward Antoine Walker.
Anderson Varejao's dunk with 5:38 left gave Cleveland its biggest lead of the game at 94-82 and the Hawks got no closer than seven the rest of the way.
The Hawks shot 53 percent from the field, but turned the ball over 18 times.
Atlanta led 32-26 after the opening frame before taking a 51-50 edge into the intermission.
Atlanta, which started a brief two-game homestand, has dropped five of six and 10 of its last 12 home games and is just 3-12 away from home this season.

Cleveland defeated the Hawks earlier in the year and has won four straight in the series...James is just two days shy of his 20th birthday...The Cavs will host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday...James has scored over 30 points seven times this season...The Hawks scored a season-high 51 points in the first half.
