NBA Game Summary - Chicago at Cleveland

(Saturday, November 27th)

Final Score: Cleveland 96, Chicago 74

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - LeBron James had 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and became the youngest player in NBA history to score 2,000 points, as the red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers pasted the Chicago Bulls, 96-74, at Gund Arena.

Jeff McInnis added 16 points and eight assists for the Cavaliers, who are winners of three straight and nine of 10.

"When you pass the ball off to your teammates it makes things a lot easier," said McInnis. "In turn, they don't know who to guard, LeBron, (Ira) Newble, (Robert) Traylor, and anyone can get the ball and shoot."

James shot 11-of-17 from the floor in just 32 minutes of action, as he sat out the entire fourth quarter. With the 26 points, James now has 2,000 career points, and at 19 years, 272 days, is the youngest-ever to do so. The previous mark was set by Kobe Bryant, who turned the trick at the age of 20 years, 184 days back on February 23, 1999.

"We just worked as a team tonight," said James. "The selflessness was great. Coach got everyone into the game and we came out with a victory.

"We came out strong tonight, and we were able to protect our house. Playing well at home is what will allow us to get into the playoffs."

James had six points during an 11-0 Cavaliers run that put them ahead 19-8 with 3 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter. But Chicago ended the frame with a 9-2 run to pull within 21-17 after 12 minutes of action.

The Cavaliers did their damage in the second and third quarters, outscoring the Bulls by a combined 55-35 count en route to the big victory. The fourth quarter was mainly garbage time, with Cleveland building its biggest lead at 88-58 with 6:09 left in the game on a three-pointer by Luke Jackson.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Cavaliers.

Chicago was led by Eddy Curry's 20 points. Luol Deng was the lone other Chicago player in double figures, with a dozen points.

Robert Traylor had season highs with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Cleveland, which has won six straight at home.
