NBA Game Summary - Chicago at Detroit

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Ben Gordon had 19 points and Andres Nocioni added 18 to lead Chicago to an 89-82 win over Detroit at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Tyson Chandler chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls, who have won five straight games and are on their longest winning streak since reeling off 13 straight during the end of the Michael Jordan era in 1998.
"It feels great," said Chicago head coach Kirk Hinrich. "We have a lot more fun. We're playing as a team. Everything goes better when you're winning, on and off the court."
Eddy Curry added 12 points in the win.
Chauncey Billups poured in a game-high 32 points and also handed out seven assists for the Pistons, who have dropped two straight following a two-game winning streak. Richard Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace and Ben Wallace all scored 12 points in the loss while Ben Wallace also hauled in 15 boards.
"We continue to shoot bad and give people life," said Detroit head coach Larry Brown. "They really came out and shot the ball well. We defensed them as best we could, but they did a great job of shooting the ball."
Chicago snapped a nine-game losing streak in the series and won for only the second time in the last 19 overall meetings.
The Bulls led by two after three quarters and quickly increased the margin to 69-64 early in the period on a pair of free throws by Hinrich.
Nocioni's jumper at the midpoint of the fourth quarter stretched the edge to seven points and the Pistons were not able to get any closer than five points again.
Gordon sealed the win with a basket with 2 1/2 minutes left to make it 83-74.
The game was tied at 19-19 after one quarter, but the Bulls took the upperhand in the second. Chandler's jumper with around seven minutes left made it a six- point contest and Chicago maintained the lead throughout the period.
The Bulls led by five late in the period before Eric Piatkowski hit a three- pointer to give his club a 46-38 halftime edge.
Chandler had eight points and six rebounds for Chicago, while Rasheed Wallace netted eight points for the Pistons in the opening 24 minutes.
Curry's three-point play early in the third quarter gave the Bulls a 10-point lead and the margin grew to 11 moments later at 60-49. However, the Pistons ended the period on a 13-4 surge, highlighted by nine from Billups, to get within 64-62.
Chicago improved to 3-8 on the road, while the Pistons fell to 7-4 at home...The Bulls defeated Detroit for the first time since April 10, 2002...The Pistons had their four-game home winning streak over Chicago snapped.
