NBA Game Summary - Dallas at San Antonio

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Tim Duncan tallied game highs with 27 points and 13 rebounds to lead San Antonio over Dallas, 94-80, as Southwest Division rivals squared off at the SBC Center.
Tony Parker added 15 points and nine assists for the Spurs, who snapped a two- game losing streak.
The Spurs are a perfect 5-0 as the host this season.
Dirk Nowitzki played despite nursing an ankle injury and posted 23 points and 11 boards for the Mavericks, who have dropped four of their last five games after starting the season by winning seven of their first eight contests. Jerry Stackhouse netted 15 points off the bench in the losing effort.
"We had a hard time getting to our spots," Stackhouse said. "Offensively, we are out of sync right now. But it was good to see Dirk on the floor."
The Spurs led the entire second half, but Dallas closed to within 74-67 after three quarters of play.
However, Dallas could get no closer as San Antonio outscored the Mavericks 20-13 in the final 12 minutes.
Dallas struggled in all aspects of the game. It only shot 39 percent from the floor, turned the ball over 15 times and lost the battle on the glass, 50-41.
No team led by more than five in the opening quarter and the Spurs led 18-17 heading into the second. The Spurs tallied a 31-point second to take a 49-45 edge into the intermission.
These two teams meet again next Tuesday in Dallas.
The Mavericks are 4-3 on the road this season...The Spurs have won 18 straight regular-season home games dating back to last year...Dallas had a season-low eight assists.
