Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Richard Jefferson scored 28 points to lead New Jersey to a 94-91 win over Charlotte at Charlotte Arena.

Rodney Buford finished with 16 points for the Nets, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Nenad Krstic posted 13 points and 12 rebounds before being ejected midway through the third quarter.

Kareem Rush, who made 10-of-19 shots from the field, posted 23 points for the Bobcats, who had their five-game home winning streak snapped. Steve Smith notched 13 points, while Emeka Okafor chipped in with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Jacque Vaughn netted 10 points for New Jersey, which used a 10-1 surge to overcome a one-point deficit in the second quarter. Jason Collins made two foul shots, with 3:47 to go in the quarter, to open a 39-31 advantage.

The Nets led 45-39 at halftime. Krstic, making his first career start, registered 11 points and 10 rebounds in the first half.

Early in the third quarter, a three-point play by Keith Bogans cut the Bobcats' deficit to 45-42.

However, New Jersey reeled off six straight points. Two foul shots by Krstic 74 seconds into the third put the Nets ahead 51-42.

Kaniel Dickens' three-pointer from the right wing with 5.7 seconds left in the third staked the Nets to a 71-65 edge at the end of the quarter.

Less than two minutes into the fourth quarter, Charlotte trimmed its deficit to 71-68 on a three-pointer by Rush.

The Nets then again reeled off six straight points. A four-point play by Jefferson with 9:42 to go, put them ahead 77-68.

Down 87-79 with 3:32 to go, Rush hit a turnaround jumper to cap a seven-point flurry that got Charlotte within 87-86. But New Jersey scored the next six points to secure the victory.

"We were not very good," said Charlotte head coach Bernie Bickerstaff. "We were not ready to play. I'm sure New Jersey would like to see us quite frequently."

New Jersey parlayed a 15-4 run into an early 19-10 lead. Jason Kidd's three- pointer midway through the first quarter capped it.

The Bobcats forced a 22-22 tie at the end of the first.
