Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Peja Stojakovic scored a team-high 22 points to lead Sacramento over Houston, 102-96, at ARCO Arena.
Bobby Jackson added 18 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Kings, who wrapped up a perfect 5-0 homestand.
"We started off real slow," said Jackson about the season. "We couldn't find our niche, and now we have it."
The Kings have dominated Houston at home over the years, winning 11 consecutive contests. Houston hasn't won in Sacramento since a 107-93 victory on March 28. 1999. The Rockets were able to snap a five-game series skid on November 6, as they posted a 104-101 overtime win at the Toyota Center.
Yao Ming tallied 29 points and nine boards for the Rockets, who fell for the first time in three games. Tracy McGrady recorded 25 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the losing effort.
The game was knotted at 83-83 midway through the fourth, but Jackson drilled a three-pointer with just over seven minutes left to give the Kings an 86-83 edge and they led the rest of the way.
The closest the Rockets got was within one. Tyronn Lue made a bucket to trim the deficit to 96-95 with 3:13 remaining for the Rockets.
But Sacramento ended the game on a 6-1 spurt to seal the victory.
Houston outshot the Kings 52 percent to 46 percent, but turned the ball over 18 times.
The Kings led 27-25 after the opening quarter before taking a 50-48 edge into the intermission.
With a 29-point third quarter, Houston took a 77-74 advantage into the final 12 minutes.
The Kings have sold out 232 consecutive home contests, including regular season and playoffs...The Kings have scored 100 or more points in seven games this season and are 6-1 in those contests.
