NBA Game Summary - Houston at Portland

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Yao Ming scored 19 points and Tracy McGrady contributed 16 points and 11 assists, as the Houston Rockets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 97-93, at the Rose Garden.
Jim Jackson and Dikembe Mutombo each had 15 points for the Rockets, who have won two in a row and evened their record at 6-6. Mutombo also pulled down 11 rebounds.
Zach Randolph paced Portland with 28 points and 14 boards. Damon Stoudamire collected 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who have dropped five of their last seven contests.
"We need to figure out how to get more wins, especially at home," said Blazers guard Derek Anderson. "We have to figure something out quick. It's very frustrating, disappointing. Especially when you're playing hard and not getting any results out of it."
Houston was clinging to a two-point lead with five minutes left in the third quarter. However, the Rockets closed the period with a 12-4 spurt, ignited by McGrady's three-pointer, to grab a 77-67 advantage after 36 minutes.
Portland kept chipping away in the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to 93-91 on a follow-up basket by Randolph with 35.9 seconds remaining.
The Rockets then got the ball to McGrady and he drained a 22-foot jumper with 13.2 seconds left to increase the margin to four.
"It just came down to a situation where I had to step up and make a big shot," McGrady said. "That's my job. My team needed me in that situation, and they called on me. I'm not going to make them all, but tonight I really needed that shot to go in."
After Anderson converted a layup for Portland, the Trail Blazers fouled Jackson with 7.3 seconds left and he proceeded to make both attempts from the stripe to seal it.
The Trail Blazers used a 10-2 run in the first quarter to take a 15-7 lead. Houston battled back and moved in front 27-25 on a three-pointer by Tyronn Lue in the closing seconds of the period.
The Rockets were able to stretch their advantage to six at 38-32 on Juwan Howard's jumper with 7:33 left in the second quarter. However, Portland went on a 10-2 run, capped by two free throws from Shareef Abdur-Rahim, to move back in front by two.
Houston then scored 13 of the next 19 points to regain the advantage by five and eventually carried a 53-50 lead into the locker room at halftime. Mutombo ended the first half with 11 points, while Randolph led the Trail Blazers in the opening 24 minutes with 12.
It was Clyde Drexler night at the Rose Garden. Drexler, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this past September, was honored during a halftime ceremony. Drexler, who also played for the Houston Rockets, was a 10-time NBA All-Star and was selected as one of league's 50 greatest players. He captured an NBA title with the Rockets in 1995 and also helped lead the Trail Blazers to the NBA Finals in 1990 and 1992...Darius Miles scored 13 points for Portland...Anderson and Abdur-Rahim both finished with 10 points and six rebounds...The Rockets have won the last four meetings between the two teams.
