NBA Game Summary - Cleveland at New York

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Jamal Crawford had 13 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, leading the New York Knicks past Cleveland, 98-88, and ending the Cavaliers' winning streak at six games.
Kurt Thomas added 16 points, 12 rebounds and solid interior defense against the Cavaliers. Stephon Marbury had 12 points and 10 assists for the Knicks, who halted a five-game losing streak against Cleveland. New York had dropped two straight at the Garden against the Cavaliers.
"I wanted them to put pressure on the ball, wherever it was," said Knicks' coach Lenny Wilkens. "If we learn that, we don't give them easy looks. We have certain principles and we're starting to pick up on that."
Anfernee Hardaway had 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting, as the Knicks connected from the field at a 53 percent clip en route to the victory. New York had lost three of its last four contests coming in.
Drew Gooden led the way for Cleveland with 25 points and 15 rebounds. LeBron James struggled from the floor, missing 10 of 15 shots, but still had 13 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists.
"They were making me pass the ball," said James. "I did that. I got a lot of my teammates in the game tonight. I was way below my season average of shots. I was just trying to get my teammates into the game. I couldn't get into a rhythm tonight."
After an even first quarter, the Knicks outscored the Cavaliers 29-16 in the second to take a 13-point cushion into the intermission at 51-38.
But the Knicks nearly coughed up the entire lead in the third quarter, thanks to poor transition defense. Cleveland outscored the Knicks 33-22 in the third, to make it a two-point New York lead entering the fourth.
Crawford then caught fire, scoring 11 points in the opening 5:20 of the fourth quarter. He capped a 18-10 run with a jumper to make it 91-81 with 6:40 remaining in the game. The Cavaliers never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.
"I just tried to knock down some shots," said Crawford. "More importantly we are getting better defensively. I can tell that we are getting better the last two or three games."
The Knicks activated point guard Jamison Brewer and placed G Moochie Norris on the injured list prior to the game. .. New York guard Allan Houston, out since late last season with chronic knee soreness, participated in the team's morning shootaround but has not yet been cleared to scrimmage...The Knicks are 93-63 all-time versus the Cavaliers...Marbury has hit his last 21 free throws, dating back to November 13...Thomas' double-double was his fourth of the season. The Knicks improved to 3-0 when leading at intermission.
