NBA Game Summary - Philadelphia at Milwaukee

(Saturday, December 18th)

Final Score: Philadelphia 116, Milwaukee 97

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Allen Iverson scored a season-high 54 points, four shy of his career best, to lead Philadelphia to a 116-97 victory over Milwaukee at the Bradley Center.

Iverson shot 17-of-29 overall and 4-of-7 from three-point territory, scoring 33 of his 54 in the first half alone. He also reached 15,000 career points with a jumper midway through the second quarter.

"All that I do is play every game like it's my last," Iverson said afterwards. "If I go 0-for-30 or I go 30-for-30, I play the same way. I'm able to look myself in the mirror after the game is over and feel like I did everything that I can."

Andre Iguodala added 18 points in the win and Corliss Williamson scored 15 for the Sixers, who have won four of their last five games.

Michael Redd scored 29 points to lead the Bucks, who have dropped four straight. Desmond Mason added 14 points in the loss.

Iverson was 12-of-17 from the floor in the first half, including 3-of-4 from three-point territory.

Two of those three-pointers came on consecutive trips down the court late in the first quarter. Those six points sparked a 10-4 period-ending run that gave the Sixers a 29-17 lead.

Milwaukee climbed within 37-33 midway through the second quarter, but Philadelphia used a 12-0 run to take control of the game. Iverson scored 10 points during the burst, and capped it with two free throws to make it 49-33 inside the 3:00 mark.

The Sixers then carried a 53-39 lead into halftime, and never trailed after that. Milwaukee did pull within 64-63 inside the 5:00 mark of the third quarter, but Philadelphia responded with nine straight points to make it a double-digit game again.

"Our guys played like it was 0-0 at halftime," Sixers head coach Jim O'Brien said. "We increased the lead like we did in the first half, we played good defense and had good shot selection."

Iverson, whose scored a career-high 58 points against Houston on January 15, 2002, left the game with 2:35 remaining in the fourth quarter.
