Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Speedy Claxton notched his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 assists along with seven rebounds to lead Golden State over Dallas 111-107, at American Airlines Center.

Clifford Robinson netted 25 points and grabbed seven boards for the Warriors, who won on the road against the Mavericks for the first time since April 10, 1999, a span of 12 straight losses. Overall, Golden State won for the fourth time in its last six games this season.

"These guys feel really good to be able to beat a quality team on the road like this," said Warriors head coach Mike Montgomery. "I think we're really improving."

Jerry Stackhouse scored a game-high 27 points for the Mavericks, who fell for the first time in three outings.

The Mavericks jumped out to an early 4-2 lead, but the Warriors responded with a 19-4 run to go ahead 21-8 and they led the rest of the way. Claxton capped off the burst on a basket with 6:24 remaining in the first quarter.

Dallas trailed 33-22 after the opening 12 minutes and then cut the deficit to six in the second quarter. With 4:09 left before the half, Marquis Daniels hit a pair from the stripe to make it a 47-41 affair, but the Mavericks still trailed 57-49 at the intermission.

Golden State increased its margin in the third en route to taking an 88-77 lead into the final 12 minutes.

The Mavericks trailed 93-77 in the fourth, but they got within two on a few occasions. Courtesy of a 24-10 run capped off by a Michael Finley three- pointer, Dallas made it a 103-101 contest with 2:11 to play.

Dallas also got to 107-105 with 18 seconds remaining, but Troy Murphy would seal the win for the Warriors with two free throws to push the lead to four.

Game Notes

The Golden State Warriors started a four-game road trip...This was the second meeting of the season between the two clubs. On November 8th, Dallas knocked off the Warriors, 101-98, in overtime in front of its home crowd...The Mavs played on back-to-back nights for the seventh time this season.
