NBA Game Summary - Phoenix at Chicago

(Tuesday, November 9th)

Final Score: Phoenix 94, Chicago 74

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Amare Stoudemire scored 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns in a 94-74 rout of the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.

Joe Johnson added 20 points and Shawn Marion tallied 14 points and grabbed 13 boards for the Suns, who remain undefeated in four games this season. Quentin Richardson chipped in with 16 points and seven boards and Steve Nash had eight points and 12 assists, as the Phoenix starters outscored the entire Chicago lineup, 84-74.

"We know that we can compete with anybody," said Richardson, who is a Chicago native, on the team's fast start. "Right now we have not played the stronger teams in the Western Conference. We do not expect it to be easy and just roll over everybody."

Luol Deng came off the bench to lead the Bulls with 18 points. Kirk Hinrich recorded 10 points and six assists, as Chicago is yet to win in three games this season.

"They were better than us at every position on the floor, starters, bench," said Chicago head coach Scott Skiles. "When that happens you are not going to win on most nights unless you get lucky, They took it to us at every position."

A low-scoring first quarter saw the Suns build an 11-point lead heading into the second and the club never looked back. Phoenix started the game with a 10-2 run that was capped by Richardson's jumper with 3 1/2 elapsed.

Then, after the Bulls drew within 12-6, a 9-3 spurt extended the advantage to 21-9 after 12 minutes of action.

Phoenix kept the Bulls at bay in the second and increased its lead to 49-34 at halftime. Following an Eric Piatkowski layup that drew Chicago within 29-24 at the 7:39 mark, the Suns answered with a 14-2 run to build a lead that Chicago couldn't recover from. A Stoudemire three-point play ended the run and gave the Suns a 43-26 cushion.

In the third quarter, Phoenix took its largest lead to that point, 70-47, when Stoudemire drained a jumper with 1:53 remaining.

Chicago didn't threaten at all in the fourth and Phoenix broke a string of seven contests with that saw the home team come away with a win in the series.

The Bulls shot just 1-of-21 from three-point land.
