NBA Game Summary - Washington at Miami

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Dwyane Wade followed up his career-high 37-point effort on Monday night with 22 points and nine assists to lead the Miami Heat to a 103-93 victory over the Washington Wizards in the back end of a home-and- home set at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Shaquille O'Neal posted 20 points and nine rebounds for the Heat, who remained perfect at 4-0 and established a new franchise mark to begin a season. Udonis Haslem added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Gilbert Arenas led five Washington players in double figures with 20 points, while Antawn Jamison had 14 points and seven boards in the losing effort. Anthony Peeler finished with 13 points, Juan Dixon posted 12 and Jarvis Hayes totaled 11 for the Wizards.
Miami led 22-16 after the first quarter and began to extend its lead in the second. A 12-2 run midway through the period enabled the Heat to grab a 39-27 advantage. Keyon Dooling put up a pair of buckets during the spurt and a Wade layup capped it. Miami led 50-37 at the break.
"He really got us going in the second quarter," said Miami head coach Stan Van Gundy of Dooling. "He really gave us a great lift tonight."
As the third quarter unfolded, Wade took control. He contributed 10 points over a six-plus minute span, as the Heat cruised to an 87-63 edge after 36 minutes.
"We double-teamed him and tried to contain him," said Wizards coach Eddie Jordan about Wade.
The visitors came within 11 toward the end of the contest, but the Heat stayed in front by a comfortable margin throughout the final frame and went on to the victory.
Washington (2-2) shot 43 percent from the field while the Heat finished at 52 percent (41-of-79).
The Heat captured the first game of the home-and-home, 118-106...Last season, the Heat swept the four meetings with the Wizards. Overall, Miami has now won six of the last eight contests in this series. Washington has lost three straight at Miami...The Wizards outscored Miami by 30-16 in the fourth quarter...The Heat won the battle on the glass, 45-44...Miami has won 14 straight home games, dating back to last season...Miami has only trailed for five minutes and five seconds during the entire season so far...The Heat led by as many as 29 at 94-65 with 9:17 remaining in the final quarter.
