NBA Game Summary - LA Clippers at Golden State

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Corey Maggette poured in a game-high 26 points to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 94-86 win over Golden State at The Arena.
Bobby Simmons netted 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Clippers, who have won two of their first three games to begin the season.
Chris Wilcox scored 14 points and Elton Brand added 13 points and seven boards in the win.
"Ever since I've been in the NBA, I've never started like this," said Wilcox, a second-year center out of Maryland. "It's a great feeling right now. Everything has worked out for us, and this is something to build on."
Speedy Claxton had 18 points and nine assists and Troy Murphy scored 17 points for the Warriors, who dropped all three games on their homestand to begin the campaign.
Jason Richardson contributed 15 points in the loss.
Golden State trailed by nine after three quarters, but pulled within 78-74 on Richardson's three-pointer with just under four minutes remaining. The Warriors, though, could not draw any closer as they were plagued by poor foul shooting and a terrible percentage from three-point range all night.
For the game, Golden State hit only 23-of-38 free throws (61 percent) and just 1-of-15 three-point tries (7 percent).
The Clippers jumped out to a 14-8 lead on Maggette's basket midway through the first quarter and extended the cushion to 16 points at 31-15 after one period.
In the second, the lead rose to as many as 23 points, but Golden State fought back and closed within 12 points on Calbert Cheaney's basket late in the quarter. Los Angeles went into the locker room with a 51-37 lead.
Maggette scored 17 points and Simmons added 14 in the first half, while Murphy led Golden State with nine points over the first 24 minutes.
The Warriors battled back in the third quarter as they trimmed the gap to 55-51 on Claxton's basket with around seven minutes left in the period. The layup capped a 14-4 spurt to begin the period.
The Clippers weathered the surge and took a 68-59 lead into the final frame.
The Clippers were 2-of-3 from behind the arc (67 percent) and 24-of-37 from the charity stripe (65 percent)...Los Angeles shot 49 percent from the field (34-of-69)...Golden State has been held under 40 percent shooting from the field in every game this year...The Warriors began the season 0-3 for the first time since 1999-2000...Golden State has not scored 20 points in any first quarter this year...Los Angeles has won two of its first three games for the first time since 1996-97...The Clippers have won six of their last eight and 11 of 14 at Golden State.
