NBA Game Summary - Memphis at New Orleans

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Eric Gordon scored a team-high 18 points and Carl Landry added 16 points and 11 rebounds, as the Hornets took down the Grizzlies, 88-75 at New Orleans Arena.
Jason Smith also posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards for New Orleans, which forced 21 turnovers in completing a successful 4-1 homestand.
"They (Grizzlies) missed a lot of shots, but I thought we had little to do with that," New Orleans head coach Monty Williams said. "Overall, I thought it was a good team win."
The Grizzlies, trying to gain ground in the Western Conference playoff race, shot just 36 percent from the floor and fell two games behind the fourth- seeded Clippers. Rudy Gay netted 24 points to lead the way.
"We just didn't muster up the energy that we needed to come out and play," admitted Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins said. "We played a lot of games the last two weeks, but we still have to come out and play."
Both teams struggled from the floor in the first half, with Memphis leading 16-15 at the end of the first and 37-33 at the break.
The Hornets nearly eclipsed their first-half output with a 29-point third quarter, outscoring the Grizzlies by 10 in the process to take control.
Gustavo Ayon's layup provided the hosts with a 62-56 lead entering the fourth, and New Orleans never trailed in the final quarter.
Landry's three-point play midway through the frame yielded a 75-64 cushion, and the closest the Grizzlies got from there was nine.
Memphis' Marc Gasol played just four minutes in the fourth quarter after he fell to the floor with an apparent leg injury. He finished with 11 points, as did teammate O.J. Mayo...The Hornets were 21-for-21 from the foul line...New Orleans outscored the Grizzlies in the paint, 40-22.
