NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at Detroit

(Friday, April 13th)

Final Score: Milwaukee 113, Detroit 97

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Drew Gooden scored 26 points, Brandon Jennings had 20 with 10 assists and the Milwaukee Bucks rolled to a 113-97 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

The Bucks, still ninth in the Eastern Conference playoff race, got 18 points from Monta Ellis, 16 from Carlos Delfino and 14 out of Ersan Ilyasova as all five starters ended up in double figures.

Brandon Knight scored 25 points and Ben Gordon had 24 to lead the Pistons.

Detroit coach Lawrence Frank blamed himself for the loss, saying preparation was the reason his team gave up so many points. Gordon disagreed.

"They've been scoring that many points on a lot of teams," he said. "I really don't know what we could have done differently."

Milwaukee snapped a two-game losing streak but still remained two games out of a potential playoff spot.

The Bucks shot better than 57 percent in the first quarter and took the lead for good with a 10-0 run led by Gooden and Ellis, who both scored four points during it.

"Coach said if I have a good game or play that way, we're a tough team to beat," said Gooden.

The run gave Milwaukee a 27-19 advantage, which turned into a 30-25 lead going into the second quarter.

The Bucks went up 11 on a Jennings runner that made it 36-25, but the Pistons twice cut the deficit to one.

Milwaukee carried a 52-47 lead into the break with Gooden and Ellis both scoring 14 points, then went ahead by as many as 20 in the third quarter.

The lead remained in double digits for the final 20-plus minutes of the game.

Game Notes

The Bucks return home to play Indiana on Saturday...The Pistons were coming off a 1-3 road trip they salvaged with a 24-point win at Charlotte on Thursday. They will start a three-game homestand that includes visits from Chicago on Sunday and Cleveland on Tuesday.
