Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Deron Williams scored 34 points and made the go-ahead three-pointer with 26.8 seconds left in overtime, as the New Jersey Nets took down the Philadelphia 76ers, 97-90.
Williams scored 23 of his points after halftime and ended with 11 assists for the Nets, who snapped an eight-game skid against the Sixers.
"I was just trying to be aggressive and look for some good shots," said Williams, "and I was able to get some."
Kris Humphries added 13 points and 19 rebounds, while Anthony Morrow and Jordan Farmar tallied 16 and 12 points, respectively.
Lou Williams ended with 17 points and six assists for Philadelphia, which fell to 8-2 at home this season. Elton Brand and Jrue Holiday had 16 and 14 points, respectively.
Trailing by four, 88-84, with 2 1/2 minutes left in overtime, Philly ripped off six straight points to take the lead. Holiday capped the surge with an easy steal off an inbounds pass and slam, making it 90-88 with 1:18 to go.
But Deron Williams made a jumper and three-pointer around Jodie Meeks' missed three-pointer to give New Jersey a 93-90 edge with 26.8 seconds left.
Morrow went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final seconds to seal the victory.
"We had five fast break points tonight. That was the difference," said Sixers coach Doug Collins. "We never could get out and run."
The Nets led by as many as seven in a first quarter that saw four lead changes and two ties. Farmar's three-pointer with 47.9 seconds left gave New Jersey a 22-18 edge after 12 minutes.
Morrow and Shawne Williams started the second period with a three-pointer and layup, respectively, to give the visitors a 27-18 lead.
But Philadelphia made it close again with an 11-0 run moments later. Thaddeus Young's pair of jumpers put the home team ahead by two, 31-29, with 7:46 to go.
Down by three, 34-31, with less than 5 1/2 minutes remaining, the 76ers used a 7-0 flurry to take the lead back. Brand scored the final five points of the burst to give Philly a 38-34 margin.
The Sixers held a 45-43 lead at the break, but New Jersey started the second half on a 16-6 run. Mehmet Okur made a pair of three-pointers during the surge to help give the visitors a 59-51 edge with 4:26 left.
Philadelphia was within two near the end of the stanza, but Shawne Williams' half-court shot at the buzzer made it a 66-61 game.
The Sixers scored six of the first seven points in the fourth to tie the game. Andre Iguodala's tip-in and Holiday's three-pointer gave the home team a 78-77 lead with 2 1/2 minutes to go.
Morrow responded with a three-pointer with 1:09 remaining to give New Jersey an 80-78 margin. Brand made an open 14-foot jumper at the other end to tie the contest.
After Farmar missed a 14-foot jumper, Lou Williams made a jumper just inside the arc to give Philly an 82-80 lead with 8.8 ticks left. But Deron Williams responded with a driving layup to tie the game again with 1.9 seconds remaining.
Deron Williams prevented Lou Williams from getting a long three-pointer off as time expired in regulation.
