NBA Game Summary - Denver at Milwaukee
(Tuesday, January 17th)
Final Score: Denver 105, Milwaukee 95
Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Corey Brewer scored 22 points, leading the Nuggets to a 105-95 win over the Bucks on Tuesday.
Al Harrington added 16 points while Danilo Gallinari and Nene both had 14 for the Nuggets, who bounced back from Sunday's loss to the Jazz. Arron Afflalo and Ty Lawson added to the balanced attack with 11 points apiece.
Brandon Jennings' 30 points weren't enough to avoid the Bucks' first home setback of the season. Tobias Harris chipped in 14, Jon Leuer had 11 and Carlos Delfino finished with 10.
Bradley Center has been something of a safe haven for the inconsistent Bucks this season. They entered Tuesday with a 4-0 mark at home, while playing to a dismal 0-8 clip on the road.
But the Nuggets, who were kicking off a five-game road trip, were unphased by the Bucks' Bradley Center prowess, using an overwhelming second quarter to seize control. Leading 26-21 after one, they built their advantage to as many as 20 in the second behind 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Brewer led the charge, scoring 12 points and hitting two treys in the quarter.
"We made the pass to the open three and fortunately we made enough threes to keep that confidence and keep the lead at 10 for most of the night," said Nuggets coach George Karl.
The Bucks failed to significantly threaten the rest of the way. Jennings made in a nine-point game in the closing minutes with a layup, but Gallinari answered with a pair of free throws. Milwaukee reserve Shaun Livingston then hit a 15-footer, but the Bucks would get no closer, as Jennings missed a pull- up three with 1:13 left and Gallinari sealed the final result with a trey.
"I think our energy in the first half was a little suspect," said Jennings. "We tried to come back in the end but it was a little bit too late."
The Nuggets will also visit Philadelphia, Washington, New York and Sacramento on their trek...Denver has won four straight over Milwaukee...Bucks center Andrew Bogut had two points on 1-of-5 shooting in his second game back from a concussion.
