NBA Game Summary - Portland at Indiana
(Tuesday, March 13th)
Final Score: Indiana 92, Portland 75
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Lou Amundson netted a career-high 21 points on 10-of-11 shooting off the bench as the Indiana Pacers routed the Portland Trail Blazers, 92-75, on Tuesday.
"It felt great," Amundson said in a televised postgame interview. "We wanted to make a statement today."
A balanced Pacers offensive attack saw five players finish in double figures, including 11 points apiece for Danny Granger, Paul George and George Hill. David West contributed a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double for Indiana, which snapped a four-game skid.
LaMarcus Aldridge led Portland with 17 points and Nolan Smith donated 10 for the Trail Blazers, who have dropped six of eight.
The notoriously streaky Pacers -- their four-game losing streak came on the heels of six straight wins, which followed five losses in a row -- dominated this contest from start-to-finish, taking a 4-3 lead early in the first and never looking back.
After falling behind by 18 in the second quarter, Portland did make a run late in the half. Aldridge scored seven points during the 12-4 spurt, which cut the Blazers deficit to 48-38 at intermission.
But Indiana opened the second half scoring 10 of the first 14 points and led by double-digits thereafter, including by as many as 29 in the fourth.
"You have to make shots and we didn't make shots early in the game," said Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan. "We shot pretty much 30 percent throughout this game and they took control."
