"The reason (getting the ball more) obviously is Tony (Parker) is playing great," Duncan said. "He's making all the right decisions. We have great shooters on the perimeter, which opens it up in the middle for me. They have to respect our shooters and respect Tony and I'm the other guy."
Tiago Splitter donated 17 points and seven boards off the bench for the Spurs, who improved to 3-3 on a seven-game homestand that ends Wednesday against Orlando.
JaVale McGee ended with 21 points and 15 rebounds for the Wizards, who fell to 3-15 away from the nation's capital this season. Jordan Crawford and Nick Young had 19 and 18 points, respectively.
San Antonio took control of the game late in the first quarter. Down by two, 18-16, with 5:52 to go, the Spurs went on a 12-1 run. Parker tallied five points during the burst, which Matt Bonner capped with a three-pointer for a 28-19 margin.
The Spurs shot 60 percent from the field in the first stanza to take a 32-24 lead.
Holding a 36-31 edge early in the second frame, Gary Neal and Bonner made back-to-back shots from beyond the arc to spark a 15-2 surge. Splitter's bank shot made it a 51-33 contest with 7:07 left.

Washington never got closer than eight in the second half.
"They did a great job of going under screens and I missed a couple jump shots," Wizards guard John Wall said. "It took me a while to get my rhythm going but they do a great job helping.
