NBA Game Summary - Phoenix at Oklahoma City

(Wednesday, March 7th)

Final Score: Oklahoma City 115, Phoenix 104

Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - Russell Westbrook finished with 31 points and 10 assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a 16-point second half deficit to take down the Phoenix Suns, 115-104, on Wednesday.

James Harden and Kevin Durant netted 30 points apiece and Serge Ibaka grabbed 20 boards to go with 18 points for the Thunder, who have won 14 straight at home and 11 of 13 overall.

"We were getting stops, blocks and shots," said Durant. "Guys were rebounding. We got some transition baskets and we were able to get a good win against a really good team."

Marcin Gortat scored 28 points and had 11 rebounds while Jared Dudley contributed 17 and 11 for the Suns, who saw a three-game winning streak snapped. Steve Nash donated 12 points and 13 assists in defeat.

"We played extremely hard and I thought we fought like crazy, but they got two All-Star guys (Durant and Westbrook) that stepped up and they've got a guy coming off the bench that is most likely going to be the Sixth Man of the Year (Ibaka)," said Suns head coach Alvin Gentry.

Phoenix came out of the locker room at halftime up six, and slowly built up that advantage until it reached 84-68 at the 4:13 mark of the third quarter.

It was then that OKC's big three made a furious move.

Durant began the spurt with a floating jumper, Harden hit two from the free throw line, and Westbrook forced a turnover and slammed home a dunk.

A Dudley layup followed before Harden drained a three-pointer and Ibaka threw down a dunk. Durant knocked down a turnaround jumper, and Westbrook finished the rally with a trey.

The 16-2 run took less than four minutes to complete, and the Suns advantage had shrunk to 86-84.

Oklahoma City went on a 14-1 run in the fourth to take its first lead since 2-0 and never looked back, outscoring Phoenix 31-16 in the frame.
