Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Zach Randolph had 23 points and 11 rebounds as Memphis downed San Antonio, 111-104.
The win, coupled with Houston's loss to Miami, gave Memphis some breathing space in the playoff race as the team now holds a 2 1/2 game lead over the Rockets for the final spot in the Western Conference.
Tony Allen added 23 points, O.J. Mayo donated 17, including four three- pointers and Mike Conley had 12 points for the Grizzlies, who have won four of their last five.
"It was just a great win because of the circumstances of how the Spurs play and how well they play," said Memphis head coach Lionel Hollins.
George Hill had 30 points and Tony Parker added 20 points and six assists for the Spurs, who have dropped three in a row for the first time since Jan. 20-25, 2010. Manu Ginobili left the game in the third quarter with a bruised thigh.
"We've had three tough road games and they've been in all three of them," said San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich. "[They've] pulled together pretty well and gave it their best shot, just came out of it on the short end."
