NBA Game Summary - Minnesota at Utah

(Wednesday, March 16th)

Final Score: Utah 119, Minnesota 104

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - C.J. Miles scored a career-high 40 points, including 6-of-7 from beyond the arc, as the Jazz topped the Timberwolves, 119-104.

Al Jefferson posted 26 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks as the Jazz won back-to-back games for the first time under new head coach Ty Corbin. Utah improved to 5-10 since the departure of Jerry Sloan and won for the third time in five games.

Andrei Kirilenko added 15 points, six assists and six rebounds before fouling out late in the game while Derrick Favors added 13 points for the victors.

"I just tried to come out here aggressively, um, and I kinda got going, and at the end of the first, he took Al [Jefferson] out, and he gave me a couple more minutes and I had to be aggressive in that second group," Miles said. "Then from there, just trying to stay in the game."

Kevin Love posted 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead Minnesota, which has dropped two in a row. Michael Beasley and Luke Ridnour both scored 16 while Darko Milicic and Anthony Randolph both added 10 points in the loss.

Miles posted 18 points on 7-of-8 from the field, including 4-of-5 from three- point range, in the first quarter as the Jazz held a 35-32 lead after one.

Minnesota was held to 18 points on 13.6 percent from the field in the second quarter, as the Jazz widened their lead to 71-50 entering the locker room. Jefferson account for 10 of his points in the second quarter as the Jazz shot 59 percent from the field.

The T-Wolves were able to make up some ground in the third quarter as Love posted 12 points while playing all 12 minutes. Minnesota shot 58 percent from the field in the third quarter, trimming their deficit to 92-80 entering the final stanza.

However, the Jazz's lead was too much to overcome in the fourth quarter as their lead remained above 10 throughout the duration.

"They have been doing this for the past, I don't even know how long, they set great picks, they get guys open and they have tremendous passers on their team so they look to exploit miss matches and it's just something they have been doing for a long time so we really respect the Utah Jazz," Love said.
