NBA Game Summary - San Antonio at New Jersey

(Monday, February 14th)

Final Score: San Antonio 102, New Jersey 85

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Manu Ginobili scored eight points in the early part of the fourth quarter to cap off a 22-point performance as the San Antonio Spurs continued their rodeo road trip success with an easy 102-85 win over the lowly New Jersey Nets.

Tim Duncan scored 15 and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Tony Parker and George Hill each notched 13 points for the Spurs, who sport the NBA's best record at 46-9 and improved to 6-2 on their nine-game trek.

Gary Neal added 11 points and DeJuan Blair posted 10 points and 11 boards for the victors.

Travis Outlaw and Brook Lopez each had 11 points to lead the Nets, who went winless on a brief two-game homestand and have dropped five of the last seven overall. Lopez also had 10 rebounds while Devin Harris and Jordan Farmar each tallied 10 points.

Following a relatively competitive first quarter, where San Antonio held a 27-23 lead, Sasha Vujacic scored the first five points of the second stanza to give the Nets a one-point lead.

The Spurs, though, pulled away toward the end of the half with a 10-0 run. Matt Bonner's three-pointer finished off the spurt with 2:22 left in the half and San Antonio took a 59-48 edge into the locker room.

"It's tough playing from behind, especially against a team that good," Farmar said.

New Jersey trimmed the lead to six, 72-66, thanks to a 8-1 run capped off by Lopez's short jumper with 1:47 left in the third.

However, the Spurs subsided the home team's comeback bid by responding with the last eight points of the quarter to take an 80-66 advantage into the final 12 minutes. Hill concluded the run with a trey inside 30 seconds to play.

Ginobili scored eight of the first 10 points of the final quarter, and San Antonio cruised from there, never seeing the lead dip below 15.

"We really played hard and rotated well...It was a complete second half," Ginobili said.
