NBA Game Summary - Sacramento at Phoenix

(Sunday, February 13th)

Final Score: Sacramento 113, Phoenix 108

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Carl Landry scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in a reserve role, as the Sacramento Kings took down the Phoenix Suns, 113-108.

Tyreke Evans added 21 points and seven assists for the Kings, who snapped a five-game skid. Samuel Dalembert donated 18 points and 15 boards.

Donte Greene chipped in with 19 points off the bench for Sacramento, which started a seven-game road trip on Sunday.

The Kings were without rookie forward/center DeMarcus Cousins, who did not make the trip to Phoenix. The organization is reviewing a situation that occurred in the locker room following Saturday's loss to Oklahoma City. Cousins reportedly had an altercation in the locker room with Greene.

"Tonight we pushed through and beat a good team on the road, especially with all the turmoil, or whatever you want to call it, with DeMarcus," Kings head coach Paul Westphal said. "This was quite a pulling together of our team. It was great to see."

Steve Nash finished with 22 points and 18 assists for the Suns, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Marcin Gortat tallied 20 points and 12 boards off the bench.

The Kings entered the fourth down by three, 81-78, but opened the final period on a 15-2 run to go in front for good.

Dalembert tallied eight points during the stretch, which Greene capped with a trey and layup to make it 93-83 with 6:03 to play.

The Suns hung around and were down five, 107-102, on Channing Frye's layup with 37.3 seconds to go. But Sacramento went 6-of-6 from the line down the stretch to seal the victory.

"I think that tonight was just one of those nights that we really needed it and things just didn't go our way," Frye said. "I think it was a tough game and they played hard and I think they just played their game. We knew they were going to attack the rim and create opportunities for their big guys. We just need to do a better job of getting the ball."

The Suns held a 32-30 lead after 12 minutes of action and led for the entire second quarter.

Holding a 48-47 edge with 2:15 left, Phoenix ripped off nine straight points to make it a 10-point game. It was 57-50 at the half.

The Kings outscored the Suns, 28-24, in the third to cut their deficit to 81-78.
