NBA Game Summary - Atlanta at Milwaukee

(Wednesday, January 26th)

Final Score: Milwaukee 98, Atlanta 90

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Corey Maggette scored 22 points as Milwaukee came back to defeat Atlanta, 98-90, at Bradley Center.

Earl Boykins scored 11 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Bucks overcame an 11-point deficit during the final 12 minutes. Carlos Delfino chipped in with 15 points for the Bucks, who halted a two-game skid.

Jamal Crawford posted 20 points and Al Horford ended with 17 points, 10 boards and five assists for the Hawks, who lost for the second time in three games. Joe Johnson and Josh Smith had 15 and 14 points, respectively, in defeat.

Horford returned to the lineup after missing two games with a sore right ankle while Marvin Williams also rejoined the Hawks after being sidelined for 11 games because of a bruised back.

Up by 11 heading into the fourth quarter, the Hawks went cold in making just one of their first 14 shots of the final frame. Meanwhile, Milwaukee caught fire, hitting 61.1 percent of its shots during the fourth quarter rally.

"It's amazing how different a team looks when they make shots," Boykins said. "We didn't do anything we haven't done all year. We ran the exact same plays, we just made shots."

Temple and Delfino made back-to-back three-pointers and Boykins' mid-range jumper with 6 1/2 minutes left gave the home team a 79-78 lead.

Milwaukee built its lead as high as eight during the next few minutes and never looked back, sealing the win from the free throw line.

"You have to give Milwaukee credit. They were resilient tonight," Horford said. "That shows the character of the team. They kept with it."

Maggette started quick with 14 first-quarter points, but the Hawks claimed a 23-22 edge heading into the second stanza.

The game remained close during the second quarter and Atlanta held onto a slim 47-44 lead at intermission.

During the third period, Maggette's long jumper tied the game at 50 just under the 10-minute mark. The quarter saw three other ties until Atlanta scored the final five points for 75-64 lead.
