(Saturday, February 12th)
Final Score: New York 105, New Jersey 95
Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Wilson Chandler started in place of an injured Amare Stoudemire and scored 21 points, leading the New York Knicks to a 105-95 victory over the New Jersey Nets.
Landry Fields knocked down a trio of three-pointers in fourth quarter, including two during a 12-2 run that helped New York put the game away.
Fields had 14 points and Toney Douglas scored 19 off the bench for the Knicks, who snapped a two-game losing streak and won for just the second time in their last six.
New York was 16-of-34 from three-point range in the game, including 6-for-7 in the fourth quarter.
"They lived and died with it and they lived," said Nets head coach Avery Johnson.
Stoudemire missed his first game as a Knick with a sprained right big toe the team said he suffered in Friday night's loss to the Lakers. It was unclear if he would miss any more time.
"Everybody stepped up. We played well, and that's why we got the win," said Felton.
Devin Harris scored 22 points to lead the Nets, who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Brook Lopez added 19 points and Sasha Vujacic had 15 in the loss.
The Nets trailed by as many as nine points early in the fourth, but used a 10-0 run to take their first lead since the opening quarter. Harris buried a three-pointer from the corner to make it 84-83 with 7:01 left.
They had an 89-87 lead after Anthony Morrow hit a three, also from the corner. But the Knicks used one final spurt to take control for the last time.
Chandler and Fields both hit three-pointers from the right side to start the 12-2 run and Timofey Mozgov added a three-point play during it. Fields knocked down his third long-range shot of the quarter to make it 99-91 with just 48.6 seconds left.
New York sealed the win at the foul line, with Raymond Felton going 4-for-4 to finish with 13 points and Danilo Gallinari hitting a pair.
New Jersey was trying to win three games in a row for the first time in more than two years, but trailed for most of the game.
The Knicks had leads of 27-21 after the first quarter, 59-54 at halftime and 72-68 heading into the fourth. They shot 43 percent for the game, while the Nets shot 42 percent.
New Jersey hasn't won three straight since a four-game run from January 31- February 7, 2009...Felton had a game-high 11 assists...Derrick Favors had nine points and a career-high 14 rebounds for the Nets.
