NBA Game Summary - New Jersey at Golden State

(Monday, January 17th)

Final Score: Golden State 109, New Jersey 100

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Monta Ellis recorded 26 points, nine assists, five rebounds and three steals to pace the Golden State Warriors over the struggling New Jersey Nets, 109-100.

David Lee added 24 points and 10 boards for the Warriors, who have won two in a row and four of six overall.

Stephen Curry chipped in with 13 points and six assists. Reggie Williams and Dorell Wright donated 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the victors.

"We were just patient. We let the game come to us," Ellis said. "They have about the same system of plays like us. We just took to our time and looked for the open guy. We had to control the ball because if we would have turned the ball over they would have taken it and ran."

Brook Lopez finished with 20 points and seven rebounds for the Nets, who have dropped six straight games. Devin Harris added 19 points and eight assists for New Jersey, which got 16 points from Sasha Vujacic.

The Nets went 0-4 on their road trip and fell to 3-21 away from home this season.

A tight first quarter resulted in a 28-28 tie, but Golden State created some distance in the second.

Holding a 38-37 edge, the Warriors put together a 13-4 run. Vladimir Radmanovic made a three-pointer during the stretch, which Andris Biedrins capped with a hook shot for a 51-41 margin with 1:24 to go.

Golden State held a 54-46 advantage at the break.

New Jersey got as close as three in the third stanza, but the Warriors took a 79-73 lead into the fourth.

Kris Humphries' two free throws with 2:14 to play cut the gap to 101-96. But Golden State responded with eight straight points to seal the victory.

Curry sparked the run with a three-pointer and two free throws. Jordan Farmar's second miss from beyond the arc in less than a minute led to a pair of Lee foul shots.

Vujacic followed with another missed three-pointer for the Nets, and Curry made 1-of-2 from the line to cap the burst.
