NBA Game Summary - LA Clippers at Golden State

(Friday, January 14th)

Final Score: Golden State 122, LA Clippers 112

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Monta Ellis scored 30 points and dished out six assists to help the Golden State Warriors beat the Los Angeles Clippers, 122-112, at ORACLE Arena.

Stephen Curry drained five shots from beyond the arc en route to 23 points for the Warriors, who have won three of their last five games. David Lee posted 19 points with nine rebounds and Reggie Williams totaled 16 points off the bench.

"It's no secret I've been trying to get [Williams] to play that way all year long," said Warriors head coach Keith Smart. "And he finally played. I tried to get him to be the ball handler, and use Monta as a decoy, and I wanted him to be the playmaker and he did make some plays."

Blake Griffin recorded his 25th straight double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds for the Clippers, who were aiming for a fourth straight win. Eric Gordon also scored 28 points in defeat.

With the teams even at 106, the Warriors pulled away with 10 straight points. Vladimir Radmanovic hit consecutive three-pointers before Lee and Ellis converted layups to make it 116-106 with 1:57 left in the fourth quarter.

"It was a great win for us," Ellis said. "We played great last game and tonight they played an excellent game. We didn't expect them to play the way they did the whole game but we found a way to get the win."

The Clippers held a 39-35 edge after the opening 12 minutes, but trailed by as many as 12 in the second quarter. Golden State carried a 69-62 advantage into halftime.

Down 12 early in the third quarter, Los Angeles pulled even at 77 with a 15-3 surge. The Warriors pushed their lead back to double-digits at 94-84 on a reverse layup by Dorell Wright late in the frame.

Los Angeles erased an eight-point deficit early in the fourth quarter.
