NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Portland

(Tuesday, April 5th)

Final Score: Golden State 108, Portland 87

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Monta Ellis scored 30 points and David Lee posted 29 points and 20 rebounds, as the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Portland Trail Blazers, 108-87, at Rose Garden.

The game was tied at halftime, but by then the Blazers had already clinched their third consecutive postseason berth as a result of Houston losing to Sacramento.

The Warriors then hit 12-of-15 from the floor in the third quarter to go up by 16, and the fourth quarter saw both teams empty their benches.

"We took what the defense gave us," Ellis said. "Tonight was just our night and we never took our foot off the pedal."

Stephen Curry ended with 28 points, eight boards and four assists in the win, Golden State's fourth in six games.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Portland, which had won three of four coming in. Wesley Matthews also netted 17 in defeat.

The game was tied at the end of the first (19-19) and second (47-47) quarters before Golden State took over in the third, specifically after the midway point.

Dorell Wright's layup sparked a game-altering 13-1 run that Lee capped with a three-pointer play and runner for an 80-66 advantage with under 2 1/2 minutes remaining.

The margin at the end of the frame was 84-68, and the playoff-bound Blazers didn't put up a fight in the final 12 minutes.

"Tonight was bad. It was just one of those nights," Blazers head coach Nate McMillan said.

Game Notes

The Blazers, currently the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, had won eight straight at home...The Warriors had lost eight consecutive road games...Nicolas Batum donated 15 points off Portland's bench...Portland center Marcus Camby left the game for good after Lee incidentally fell on top of him on the floor in a battle under the basket.
