NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at Dallas

(Monday, December 13th)

Final Score: Milwaukee 103, Dallas 99

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Brandon Jennings filled the box score with 23 points, 10 assists and five rebounds, and the Milwaukee Bucks erased a huge deficit and ended the Dallas Mavericks' win streak at 12 with a 103-99 decision at American Airlines Center.

Andrew Bogut totaled 21 points and 14 rebounds for a Bucks team that used a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter to clinch a game they once trailed by 20.

Reserves Keyon Dooling, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Ersan Ilyasova combined for 42 points in the win, Milwaukee's third straight.

Dirk Nowitzki had a game-high 30 points but missed a potential tying bucket late in regulation for the Mavs, whose last loss came at home against Chicago on November 17.

"They kicked our [butts]. I don't know any simpler way to say it," Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle said. "Credit Milwaukee -- they took the game away from us. I'm not going to say we gave it away or anything like that; they took it."

Jose Juan Barea's reverse layup gave Dallas an 88-83 advantage with 6:47 remaining in the game, but the pesky Bucks responded with the next 14 points.

Ilyasova's three-pointer capped a string of six successful possessions for Milwaukee, which suddenly led, 97-88, with 3:33 to play.

The Mavs chipped away at the deficit, pulling within 101-99 on two Nowitzki free throws with 32.8 seconds on the clock.

Jennings missed a jumper at the other end but grabbed a critical defensive rebound when Nowitzki's attempt in the lane fell short.

Two Dooling free throws with 9.9 ticks on the clock made it a two-possession game, and Caron Butler's errant three-pointer effectively ended the Mavs' impressive stretch.

Dallas ended the opening quarter on a 9-2 spurt for a 25-15 lead, which ballooned to 42-22 following two Jason Terry free throws with five minutes remaining in the half.

Milwaukee answered with the next 11 points over the next two minutes -- capped by an Ilyasova three -- and it stayed a nine-point Dallas margin, 52-43, at the break.

An 11-2 stretch gave the Bucks their first lead midway through the third, as Ilyasova tipped in a Douglas-Roberts missed free throw for a 61-60 edge.

Three Dooling free throws with less than a second left in the frame had the visitors leading 75-74 going into the final stanza.

"We were searching for a lineup that could get something going for us," Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said. "We started a different lineup in the third quarter and those guys got us going. We battled back...It was a gutsy win, we played really hard tonight."
