Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Mike Conley filled the stat sheet with 14 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds and seven of a franchise-record 22 steals, as Memphis rolled to a 109-89 win over Minnesota.
O.J. Mayo had 29 points, while Rudy Gay chipped in 25 for the Grizzlies, who were coming off a one-point win at Dallas Friday. Conley tied his own franchise record for steals in a game and equaled a career-high in assists.
Wayne Ellington totaled 15 points for the Timberwolves, who shot 34.8 percent from the field, one night after winning at home over the Bucks. Minnesota had 30 turnovers, leading to 36 Memphis points.
Gay scored 12 points during the opening quarter, a period in which the Grizzlies went 13-of-21 from the field. It was highlighted by an incredible 21-1 burst, capped by a three-point play from Darrell Arthur. That moved the lead to 25-5 with 3:52 left in the first. The lead stood at 34-19 after 12 minutes.
Luke Ridnour's layup briefly had the Timberwolves within single digits with 1:01 left in the half, but Mayo's three-ball at the conclusion made it 59-46 going to the locker room.
The Grizzlies built their lead in the third, but Sebastian Telfair's three- pointer trimmed the margin to 87-75 moving to the fourth.
Memphis poured it on in the fourth, with Gay's slam extending the margin to 107-82 with 2 1/2 minutes left.
Arthur had 18 points, Marc Gasol 11 and Tony Allen 10 for the Grizzlies...Kevin Love had 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Telfair scored 12 for Minnesota...The Timberwolves held a 57-43 rebounding advantage.
