Final Score: Utah 120, Oklahoma City 99

Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - Paul Millsap poured in 30 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and handed out six assists to power Utah past Oklahoma City, 120-99, at Oklahoma City Arena.

Al Jefferson added 23 points and 10 boards while Deron Williams contributed 16 points and 15 assists for the Jazz, who won for the first time after dropping their initial two games of the season.

"It's always amazed me how fast people throw you under the bus," Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan said of reaction to the slow start. "Everyone's expectations seemed to be shot...But that's OK."

Kevin Durant scored 28 points and Russell Westbrook chipped in with 22 for the Thunder, who fell for the first time after winning their first two games of the year.

"I'd rather this happen early than late. It's a lesson learned," Durant said of the loss.

Holding a 56-40 lead at the break, Utah started the third quarter with a 17-6 run that extended its lead to 27 with 6:40 to go. Millsap scored seven points during the burst while Andrei Kirilenko added five.

Oklahoma City cut the lead to down to 15 three different times but entered the final 12 minutes down, 91-74.

Durant's three-point play brought the Thunder within 104-90 but Utah pushed them away by scoring the next eight points to move ahead 112-90 with just under five minutes to play.

After a Serge Ibaka layup drew the Thunder to within 46-40, the Jazz closed the first half with a 10-0 surge. A C.J. Miles three-pointer and Kirilenko's conventional three-point play closed the run for the visitors, who shot 54- percent (24-of-44) in the first half.

Oklahoma City made just 14-of-39 shots, 35.9-percent, in the opening 24 minutes and didn't fare much better in the second half, finishing the game at 40-percent on 32-of-80 shooting.
