NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Utah

(Wednesday, March 31st)

Final Score: Utah 128, Golden State 104

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Deron Williams dished out a season-high 19 assists as the Jazz rolled over the Warriors, 128-104.

Williams also finished with eight points and missed his career assists record by two as the Jazz won their third straight game. His 19 assists were six more than Golden State's entire roster.

"I couldn't throw it in the ocean tonight, so I decided to pass," Williams said. "We made a concentrated effort to play better defense. We've gotten away from playing our defense the last week or so, and we need to get back to that (level) with these games coming up against playoff teams. We're playing with a lot of confidence right now."

Carlos Boozer added 25 points and 13 boards and Mehmet Okur chipped in 18 and 10 for Utah, which remains a half-game behind Dallas for the second seed in the Western Conference, after already clinching its fourth straight postseason berth.

Corey Maggette paced Golden State with 22 points, as the Warriors fell for the second time in three games after shooting a dismal 36 percent from the floor. The Warriors played without leading scorer Monta Ellis (flu) for the second straight game.

"Well we are not a good team, period," said Warriors head coach Don Nelson. "Look at our record. And our road record is even worse. We have been pretty decent at home, but we've really struggled on the road."

Utah came out the game strong in the opening quarter, leading 40-26 at the end of the frame after shooting 53.8 percent.

The Jazz extended the lead to 20 on a Wesley Matthews triple early in the second and finished the half with a 27-point advantage at 76-49.

Utah pulled out to a 31-point edge in the third quarter after a Matthews slam with 6:55 to go. The Jazz ended the frame with a 28-point margin after Okur converted on a three-point play with 4.7 seconds remaining.

In the final period, the Warriors trailed by at least 25 most of the quarter, but Anthony Tolliver dunked with 16.5 seconds to trim the edge to 24.
