Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Steve Blake recorded his first career triple-double with 23 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, as the Los Angeles Clippers took down the Pacific Division-champion Los Angeles Lakers, 107-91, on the final evening of regular season action.
Chris Kaman donated 22 points and seven rebounds for the Clippers (29-53), who won two of their final three games to end the season. Travis Outlaw chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds, while DeAndre Jordan and Craig Smith each had 12 points for the victors.
"It helped not having Kobe (Bryant) on the floor," Clippers coach Kim Hughes said. "I was happy with our aggressive rebounding. Steve was fantastic. He made all the right decisions."
Lamar Odom finished with 21 points and eight boards for the top-seeded Lakers (57-25), who will face the eighth-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs starting on Sunday.
Pau Gasol tallied 18 points and 17 rebounds. Shannon Brown also ended with 18 points for the Lakers, who rested Bryant and center Andrew Bynum.
In injury news for the Lakers, reserve guard Sasha Vujacic suffered a severe left ankle sprain in the first half. An MRI exam is scheduled for Thursday after X-rays were negative.
The Clippers started the third on a 15-5 run to build a 13-point lead. Kaman tallied seven points during the stretch, including a hook shot to make it 67-54 with 5:49 left. The Clippers held a 78-65 margin heading to the fourth.
Brown's jumper cut the gap to 82-74 with over nine minutes to play in the contest. However, the Clippers ripped off nine straight points moments later to build a 94-77 lead on Smith's layup near the midway point.
The Lakers held a 28-23 edge after 12 minutes, but the Clippers surged ahead in the second and took a 52-49 margin into the locker room.
"Obviously, I wasn't happy with our performance from the second quarter on," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "Give the Clippers credit. Blake had a career- type game for them."
The Lakers and Clippers split four meetings this season...Despite the loss, the Lakers have won 10 of 12 and 14 of the last 19 matchups between the division rivals...The Lakers ended with a 23-18 record on the road...The Clippers finished with a 21-20 mark at home...The Clippers were without Baron Davis (wrist), Eric Gordon (viral infection), and Drew Gooden (coach's decision)...The Clippers shot 50.6 percent from the field, while the Lakers made 39.5 percent of their shots.
