NBA Game Summary - Philadelphia at Sacramento

(Wednesday, December 30th)

Final Score: Philadelphia 116, Sacramento 106

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Lou Williams recorded a game-high 22 points, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 116-106 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Allen Iverson added 20 points, tying a season high, and Andre Iguodala ended with 19 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Sixers, who have won back-to-back games on the road for the first time all season. Philadelphia was coming off a victory at Portland on Monday.

"I'm starting to get my confidence to the level where it was before (the jaw injury)," Williams said. "Tonight was a great game for me to build on."

Omri Casspi and Donte Greene each scored 21 for the Kings, who have dropped three of four. Jason Thompson added 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Sergio Rodriguez also scored 15 in the loss.

"We had a chance early on to build a nice lead and dictate the way the game was going to be played," said Kings head coach Paul Westphal.

Philadelphia held a three-point edge at the beginning of the final quarter, but moved that advantage to double-digits with a seven-point burst. Thaddeus Young's two free throws capped the rally with just under nine minutes left for a 92-81 Sixers lead.

The Kings got within 94-88 moments later on Spencer Hawes' dunk, but Williams followed with a layup and Iguodala added two free throws. The Sixers continued to have an answer down the stretch, as Iguodala's hook shot with 3 1/2 minutes left made it a 107-95 game, and they sealed the win at the foul line.

The Kings made 12-of-24 field goals in the opening quarter to take a 28-17 lead, but the Sixers wiped out their deficit late in the second. A Marreese Speights slam followed by an Iverson three got Philadelphia within 46-44 with 3:40 to play. The Sixers then ended the half with four consecutive points to tie the game, as Iverson's jumper made it a 50-50 game at the break.

The contest was close in the third, and Rodney Carney's three with 25.8 seconds left put the Sixers up 79-76 going to the fourth.
